Limited Warranty For Alcoa\u00ae Wheels[1] (Rev. January 2020)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This limited warranty applies to new Alcoa Wheels, including forged aluminum wheels for medium duty and heavy duty trucks, truck trailers, bus, RV or motorhome wheels (“Wheels”) and the surface or rim flange treatments applied to the Wheels. “Transit Wheels” means Wheels used on transit vehicles, such as buses and vans, whose primary purpose is to transport people. The warranties set forth in this document apply to all Alcoa Wheels manufactured by Howmet and sold by Howmet or its authorized distributor to an original purchaser of the Wheel or the end user of the Wheel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Howmet warrants that the Wheel is free from defects in material and workmanship for the applicable time period set forth below, provided that Howmet does not warrant against and does not provide remedies for immaterial cosmetic defects such as minor discoloration, buffing marks, or nicks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Except as stated in (b) of this section, Wheels are warranted for 60 months from the date of manufacture as shown on the Wheel.<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n\n\n\n
  2. Transit Wheels and RV and motorhome Wheels are warranted for 120 months from the date of manufacture as shown on the Wheel.<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n<\/ol><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    During the applicable warranty period, if there is a minor failure in normal use of a Wheel because of defects in material and workmanship, Howmet agrees, without charge, to repair or replace it (see the qualifications section below).  During the applicable warranty period, if there is a major failure in normal use of a Wheel because of defects in material and workmanship during the applicable warranty period, Howmet agrees, without charge, to replace the wheel or refund the purchase price (see the qualifications section below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Howmet warrants the Alcoa Dura-Bright\u00ae surface treatment against:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    1. filiform corrosion (worm or hair like lines underneath surface protective treatment and emanating from damage to the surface treatment); and<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n\n\n\n
    2. blistering or peeling due to loss of adhesion of the surface treatment.<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n<\/ol><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

      The Alcoa Dura-Bright surface treatment warranty is for the applicable period of time set forth below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \n
      1. Except as stated in (b) of this section, Alcoa Dura-Bright\u00a0surface treatment on Wheels is warranted for 60 months from the date of manufacture as shown on the Wheel.<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n\n\n\n
      2. Alcoa Dura-Bright\u00a0surface treatment for RV and motorhome Wheels is warranted for 120 months from the date of manufacture as shown on the Wheel.<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n<\/ol><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

        Howmet warrants the Alcoa Dura-Flange\u00ae rim flange treatment against wear which creates a sharp edge that would require maintenance for 24 months from the date of manufacture as shown on the Wheel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        For 36 months from the date of manufacture as shown on the Wheel, Howmet warrants the Alcoa\u00ae Dura-Black\u2122 surface treatment against:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          \n
        1. filiform corrosion (worm or hair like lines underneath surface protective treatment and emanating from damage to the surface treatment); and<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n\n\n\n
        2. blistering or peeling due to loss of adhesion of the surface treatment.<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n<\/ol><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

          If the Alcoa Dura-Flange\u00ae rim flange treatment or the Alcoa Dura-Bright\u00ae or Alcoa Dura-Black\u2122 surface treatments fail in normal use or service (see the qualifications section below) to meet the foregoing warranties on a Wheel, Howmet agrees, without charge, to replace the Wheel with a like or similar product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          The remedies provided for in this limited warranty, are subject to adherence to Howmet\u2019s Goods return authorization (GRA) process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          How to make a claim under this limited warranty: A claim may be made under this warranty by<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          calling the Sales Service Desk on 1800 955 191 (calls within Australia are free). The Sales Service Desk will collect your contact details, details of the product being claimed for warranty, (such as manufacture date, part number, concern) and begin the claim process.  You may be required to return the Wheel or to send pictures of the Wheel to Howmet at your expense and risk of loss.  If Howmet accepts your claim, Howmet will provide a replacement Wheel delivered at Howmet\u2019s expense or refund the purchase price.  You are responsible for any other expense of claiming under this limited warranty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Qualifications: Howmet is not liable for, does not warrant, and will not repair or replace or make adjustment, with respect to any Wheel or surface or rim flange treatment on such Wheel that has been subjected to misuse, abuse, or improper modification, including any of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            \n
          1. Using a tire which is oversized according to standards recommended by the Tire and Rim Association, Inc. or other recognized tire and rim agencies such as ETRTO (Europe);<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n\n\n\n
          2. Failure to install, use and maintain Wheels in strict conformity with all applicable laws, regulations, codes and industry standards;<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n\n\n\n
          3. Loading the Wheel beyond the applicable maximum Wheel load as specified by Howmet Aerospace;<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n\n\n\n
          4. Inflating tires beyond the applicable maximum pressure as specified by Howmet Aerospace;<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n\n\n\n
          5. Except as permitted by the Service Manual for Alcoa Wheels (\u201cService Manual\u201d), changing the original condition of the Wheel by alteration or by subjecting it to any processing or changes, such as welding, straightening, painting, coating, installing a new tire valve, or heat treating;<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n\n\n\n
          6. Accidents or abnormal or severe operating conditions, including without limitation tire fires, brake fires, severe brake system drags or seizures or running with a flat tire;<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n\n\n\n
          7. Failure to follow maintenance, instructions or warnings set forth in the Service Manual, Technical Bulletins or other literature for Wheels. Recommended maintenance includes, without limitation, using proper torque, periodic cleaning, polishing, replacing the valve, inspecting rim flange wear and following maintenance procedures and periodically inspecting tires and system components connected to the Wheel for damage and loose lug nuts;<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n\n\n\n
          8. Nicks, scratches and other surface blemishes resulting from neglect, road salt, harsh conditions, improper maintenance, cleaning, road debris, curbing, accident or operation;<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n\n\n\n
          9. Rim flange wear (unless the rim flange has been treated with Dura-Flange\u00ae);<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n\n\n\n
          10. Using a spacer or adaptor of any kind;<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n\n\n\n
          11. Damaging the surface during tire mounting and installation due to the use of improper tools or balancing with wheel weights; or<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n\n\n\n
          12. Damage due to cleaning with strong chemicals (acids or alkaline) or abrasives, such as abrasive brushes, steel wool, or scouring pads; or<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n\n\n\n
          13. further use of a Wheel after discovery of defect.<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n<\/ol><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

            Other rights under Australian law: The benefits given under this limited warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies that apply under the Australian Consumer Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Howmet’s goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            EXCEPT AS REQUIRED UNDER THE CONSUMER GUARANTEES REGIME IN THE AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW AND THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, NO OTHER WARRANTY, GUARANTEE OR ASSURANCE, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED IS MADE. HOWMET IS UNDER NO LIABILITY (WHETHER IN NEGLIGENCE OR OTHERWISE) FOR ANY CLAIM THAT IS NOT A BREACH OF A CONSUMER GUARANTEE OR FOR ANY LOSS OR CLAIM IN CONNECTION WITH OR RELATING TO ANY SUCH BREACH OR ANY OTHER LOSS OR DAMAGE (INCLUDING ANY CONSEQUENTIAL OR INDIRECT LOSS, LOSS OF PROFIT, LOSS OF REVENUE OR LOSS OF OPPORTUNITY) SUFFERED OR INCURRED. IF A PURCHASER ACQUIRES A WHEEL THAT IS NOT OF A KIND ORDINARILY ACQUIRED FOR PERSONAL, DOMESTIC OR HOUSEHOLD USE OR CONSUMPTION, EXCEPT IN THE CASE OF A FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH A CONSUMER GUARANTEE UNDER ANY OF SECTIONS 51, 52 OR 53 OF THE AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW, LIABILITY FOR FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH A CONSUMER GUARANTEE IS LIMITED TO REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE WHEEL OR THE PAYMENT OF THE COST TO THE CUSTOMER OF THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Except to the extent that Part 3-5 of the Australian Consumer Law applies to the Supplier, This limited warranty does not apply to and Howmet makes no warranty whatsoever with respect to goods manufactured by third party suppliers, such as tire pressure monitoring systems and valve filters, and Any warranties with respect to such goods are limited to those which are offered by such suppliers and are transferable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            This limited warranty should be used in conjunction with the Service Manual and the Dura-Bright Wheels Cleaning Guide. The Service Manual contains important safety information and warnings. Failure to read and understand that information may result in serious injury or death. If you do not have copies of the Service Manual or cleaning guide, you may obtain copies free of charge at the contact details below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
