16×7 Aftermarket Light Truck Wheel Recall, Initiated Oct 2000<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:
<\/strong>Howmet Aerospace Wheel systems (formerly Arconic Wheel and Transportation Products or Alcoa Wheel Products) since October 2000 is voluntarily recalling forged aluminum light truck wheels, size 16x7J, LTS style, 8 on 6.5″ bolt pattern (Alcoa part number 167011<\/strong>). These wheels were manufactured for the aftermarket (non-OEM) consumer and are used primarily on \u00be- and 1-ton pickups that were sold from 1994 until Sept 2000.  A crack can develop from hand hole to hand hole and can result in additional cracks and potential failure over time if the wheel is not removed from service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CONSEQUENCE:<\/strong>
Failure can include separation of the wheel from the vehicle if the crack is allowed to propagate around the entire circumference of the wheel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

REMEDY:<\/strong>
Howmet Aerospace will replace the forged aluminum light truck Alcoa wheels, size 16x7J, LTS style, 8 on 6.5″ bolt pattern (Alcoa part number 167011<\/strong>) with an alternate style wheel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. Part Number of the wheel<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n\n\n\n
    3. Date of manufacture<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n\n\n\n
    4. End User (if applicable)<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n<\/ol><\/div><\/div>\n<\/li><\/div>\n\n\n\n
    5. A representative will ask you the following questions:<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n\n\n\n
    6. A return goods authorization (RGA) number and shipping instructions will be given to you if the wheel or wheels falls under the recall.\u00a0Howmet Aerospace\u00a0will pay for the freight charges\u00a0ONLY<\/strong>\u00a0if the shipping instructions are followed. The wheel\u00a0MUST<\/strong>\u00a0be put into a box with the RGA number on the outside of the box and returned to the\u00a0Warranty Department for Alcoa Wheels.<\/span><\/li><\/div>\n<\/ol><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
