New patented MagnaForce® Alloy for truck wheels
In 1948 we developed the first forged aluminium automotive wheel, using an alloy originally developed for the aerospace industry.
We introduced the “6061” alloy specifically for automotive wheels In 1968, and forged aluminum wheel manufacturers around the globe continue to use this alloy.
In 2013 we developed a new patented alloy, MagnaForce® for truck wheels that is significantly stronger, so it can be used to make our wheels the lightest in the market.
MAGNAFORCE® ALLOY, 17% STRONGER THAN THE INDUSTRY STANDARD
We developed the Ultra ONE® wheel range using our patented MagnaForce® alloy, which, on average, surpasses the industry standard 6061 alloy strength by 17 percent in similar applications.
With the enhanced strength of the alloy, there is an opportunity to decrease the overall weight of the wheel while maintaining its robustness and durability.
Our metallurgy experts at our Technical Centre, one of the world’s largest light metals research centers, spent over 2 years developing the MagnaForce® alloy. It has now become the newest alloy for forged aluminium wheels in 45 years.
